Valerie Taylor wins Ahsanullah Gold Medal

Valerie Ann Taylor, founder of the Centre for Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), has been selected for the prestigious Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Gold Medal Award-2008 in recognition of her outstanding contribution and services to society as well as the distressed humanity, says a press release.

A favourite name in Bangladesh as a saviour of the paralysed as well as distressed people, Taylor spread her noble activities across the country by establishing a service organisation like CRP.

Born in Kent in the United Kingdom, Valerie came to Bangladesh as a physiotherapist in 1969 as a member of Voluntary Service Overseas, an international organisation. She got the citizenship of Bangladesh in 1998.
