Bryan and Margaret Whitty were invited to attend this event at Dr Uddins “Britannia Spice Restaurant” on 24th October. A book about the doctors life has been written by A.F.M.Sayeed – “Blessed Son of Two Nations”. It is written in both Bengali and English. The launch of the book was attended by Alex Salmond, First Minister of Scotland. The event was also attended by two Chancellor and Principals of Edinburgh Universities, Chief Constable, Member of the Scottish Parliament and Depute Lord Provost.
Dr Uddin has been a great supporter of Valerie and her work and a lovely picture of them both at CRP features in the book. He has donated the profits of the book sold on the launch day to CRP through the Valerie Taylor Trust. We collected £350 at the event. The book is easy to read and has good pictures.
