First Ever Speech and language department Opens
Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) is very happy to introduce the first-ever Speech and Language Therapy department in Bangladesh. The honorable Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, inaugurated the department on June 11, 2011 at CRP’s headquarter in Savar.
The Speech and Language Therapy course has been running since 2004 through the Bangladesh Health Professions Institute at CRP and is affiliated by the University of Dhaka. The degree is a four-year bachelor of science in speech and language therapy followed by one year of compulsary internship. The first fully qualified Speech and Language Therapists commenced work in Bangladesh one year ago in June 2010 at CRP (Savar and Mirpur).
